Spiritual Camp at Uthandi - 2011

The Youth for Dharma Spiritual Camp-2011 was a grand success with the blessings of God and the support of its members.

Spiritual Camps:

Youth for Dharma organises Spiritual camps for youngsters enabling them to gain knowledge on various aspects of our religion, scriptures and Hindu Dharma.  These Spiritual Camps not only ensure refreshment to the members of Youth for Dharma but also act as a forum for their self enrichment.
The 1st Spiritual Camp was conducted on March 6th and 7th, 2010 at Thiruvannamalai. 12 people took part in the first camp.

The Enlightening first day

The 2nd Spiritual Camp was held on 12th and 13th March 2011 at at Swami Suddhananda Foundation for Self-Knowledge, Uthandi, East Coast Road, Chennai. 22 members of Youth for Dharma took part in the camp. Swamini Pramananda Saraswati of Purna Vidya presided over the camp.

The first session of the camp commenced with a Prayer recitation and an introduction about Purna Vidya Gurukulam.
It was followed by various sessions conducted by Swamini Amma covering various aspects of Purna Vidya like, Prayers, Story-telling, etc

There was an exclusive session for games in the evening where the participants enjoyed playing various outdoor games conducted by Swamini Amma.

After a small break there was an interactive session among the participants to explain the purpose, goal, motive and activities of Youth for Dharma. The first day of the camp came to an end after Bhajans session.

The Interactive second day
The second day of the camp started with at 7.A.M with an enlightening session by Swamini Amma about Samskritis (Culture and Tradition) and Prashnottaris(FAQs).

That was followed by an interesting activity where the participants were asked to teach the gathering for 5 minutes each about any topic in Purna Vidya. The session was very interactive and everyone did their best in taking purna vidya class in the given time.

Swamini Amma gave valuable feedback to everyone and distributed Purna Vidya books to the participants. Also the participants were allowed to ask their doubts and interact with Swamini Amma.

The evening session of that day was presided over by Swami Sudhanandha, who gave an enlightening address to all of us.
An interesting book called “Arise Arjuna” written by David Frawley was distributed to all the participants.

At the end of the day, all the participants left with complete satisfaction.

They were very happy about learning the glorious aspects of Hinduism and receiving the blessings of Swamini Amma and Swami Sudhanandha.

They all have expressed their desire to attend more such camps in the future.

Some words from the participants

SANJIV KAUSHIK: "I render my heartfelt thanks for all those who took so much effort to organize the camp. The aura there was both enriching and enlightening with the graces of Swamini amma and Swamiji. After the camp, I felt so much lighter as the doubts and haziness hovering in my mind about simple things in life were wiped out. I am obliged not only to spread the word about Purna Vidya but also take necessary efforts towards the initiative. Looking forward to get more blessings from Swamini Amma and Swamiji.I am available for Youth For Dharma all the time. I feel good work has no limit and I wish to dedicate as much time as I can. I have always felt guilty whenever I wasn't able to attend some of YFD's activities because, when people who are working can dedicate time, as a student, why can't I?. With the growing strength of our team, I feel more energetic so we can beef up and frequent our activities. I am psyched up to give more of myself whenever YFD wants it".

SREEKAVI: “In my perception i feel the Camp has helped us to know more about the value of the values in our Hindu Religion. Swamini Amma's speech was really a thought awakening process
which made us think and adapt any religious principles. I think it's starting point for everybody to a spiritual path leading to peaceful life. The way she delivered message or story was awesome and it's totally a different experience. However i personally feel that we can try to inculcate the values of our Religion to future generation starting from our reachable point rather than trying to catch some other group of people voluntarily . We can even educate with what we know and make more of our friends to join "Youth for Dharma" So far from the event's i have attended i feel "Youth for Dharma" makes us think and adapt rather than preaching it. i personally feel its worth a lot and so many thanks to Swamini Amma as well as for the Trust in spending their valuable time. So glad to be a member too. Please feel free to reach for any Support”
