Why Youth for Dharma?

We, the youth, have always been symbols of bountiful energy, ambitious dynamism, inspiring creativity and dauntless courage. All we require to uplift ourselves and the world we live in, to awaken harmony within and without, to apply our vibrant energy for the betterment of society is a noble cause, a high ideal, a sense of deep devotion and right channels of service.

The noble cause

Youth For Dharma is a collective formed with the blessings of Pujya Swami DayanandaSaraswati, a quintessential scholar and a renowned teacher of Vedanta. We are a group of educated youngsters in the age group of 18 – 35 years. Our sole aim is to spread awareness about Dharma, which is one of the main teaching of our religion; andour objective is to – Practice, Protect and Promote Dharma

What is Dharma?

Dharma is the guiding force that powers all creation and stimulates change and evolution. Our seers realized this and shaped our society to intrinsically follow Dharma. The fact that even after repeated foreign invasions, we still stand as one nation, is ample proof of the efficacy and inherent strength of our Dharmic culture and society.

Our objectives:

We have come together to enable Young India to realize the following objectives

-        To develop a sense of contentment

We live in an era of competition, and our lives are spent running races – first a race to cram information in the name of education, then a race to obtain a job, followed by a race to catch up and earn more money than your peers. We allow our lives to be dictated by these races, since we believe that winning them will make us successful. What if we can change the paradigm, by redefining what we mean by success.

_     To strengthen the family value system

A family including parents, grandparents, siblings and relatives is an emotional cushion. It helps to have people who can stand by us during life’s ups and downs. The support which the family system gives, enables us to lead our lives in conjunction with the society and culture. During, and after, the global recession of 2008, the whole world acknowledged that the strong value system propounded by the families in India ensured that we saved enough resources for such unforeseen crises  by not following a fully consumption based lifestyle.

-        To protect our  indigenous, scientific culture

Our culture pervades every aspect of individual and national life. It acts as the strong foundation for our society. Our culture is liberal, progressive and scientific. This is amply demonstrated by our achievements in arts, literature, mathematics, sciences like physics, astronomy, and other fields. We need to preserve this great lifestyle and pass it on to the next generations. This will serve as the yardstick to measure the success of the present generation.

-        To promote communal harmony and peace

The mutual respect for all religions and faiths is a cornerstone of the lifestyle of the Indians who are blessed with the most open minded and tolerant temperament. We respect other religions, and at the same time endeavor to protect our values and traditions.

-        To preserve National Integrity

National unity in India must be a gathering of its scattered spiritual forces, a union of the people whose hearts beat to the same tune. We have to preserve the “India” in us.
